592. Yesus tidak menghapus hukum Sinai, tetapi memenuhinya1 sedemikian sempurna,2 sehingga Ia menyingkap3 artinya yang terdalam dan mengampuni pelanggarannya.4

593. Yesus menghormati kanisah: pada pesta-pesta ziarah Yahudi Ia mengunjungi-Nya, dan Ia mencintai tempat tinggal Allah di tengah-tengah manusia ini dengan cinta yang cemburu. Kanisah mempratandai misteri-Nya. Dengan meramalkan penghancurannya, Ia menyatakan kematian-Nya yang keji dan langkah masuk ke suatu zaman sejarah keselamatan, di mana tubuh-Nya akan menjadi kanisah definitif.

594. Yesus mengerjakan perbuatan-perbuatan - umpamanya pengampunan dosa - yang mewahyukan Dia sebagai Allah sendiri yang menyelamatkan.5 Orang Yahudi tertentu melihat di dalam Dia bukan Allah yang menjadi manusia,6 melainkan mereka melihat Dia sebagai "seorang manusia" yang mengangkat diri "sendiri sebagai Allah" (Yoh 10:33), dan menghakimi Dia sebagai penghujah Allah.

The Temple prefigures his own mystery. When he announces its destruction, it is as a manifestation of his own execution and of the entry into a new age in the history of salvation, when his Body would be the definitive Temple. 594     Jesus performed acts, such as pardoning sins, that manifested him to be the Savior God himself (cf. Jn 5:16-18). Certain Jews, who did not recognize God made man (cf. Jn 1:14), saw in him only a man who made himself God (Jn 10:33), and judged him as a blasphemer.
